The World Championships start tomorrow from Nur-Sultan, Kazakhstan. First up is the men’s Greco-Roman portion of the tournament with four weights kicking off Saturday. For each day of the competition, we’ll do a bracket breakdown for the action that will take place on the following day. With the first bracket having been released, here’s what we can expect from the first four weights.

55 kg - Max Nowry starts in the smaller half of the bracket with his first match coming in the Round of 16. His first-round matchup is a favorable one, at least by World Championship standards as he is paired with Germany’s Fabian Schmitt. The two met earlier this year at the Grand Prix of Germany. While Schmitt defeated Nowry 6-3 for third place, they had clashed previously in the same tournament and it was Nowry who came out on top 5-1. Schmitt was a champion at Thor Masters this year and is also making his Senior world debut. This year he had the best continental finish of his career which was with a bronze medal.
