We’re only one day away from the start of the World Team Trials which will be held for the first time in Raleigh, North Carolina. Just like last year, the men’s freestyle World Team Trials will be held in conjunction with the women’s, and now alongside the Greco-Roman team. In 2018, we had seven men win Senior world medals, which means that three US Open winners have advanced to Final X and are awaiting the WTT’s to confirm their opponent. The seven Open champions that have world medalists in their weight class will sit in the Trials finals, waiting for an opponent to emerge. The final matches in this tournament will be conducted in a best two-out-of-three format to determine who will move on to Final X. Here is a preview and prediction of the action that will take place starting Saturday from Reynolds Coliseum.

Men’s Senior Freestyle Schedule

Saturday: 10am-12pm First Round, Quarterfinals, Consolation Rounds 1-2

Saturday: 5:30pm-9pm  Semifinals, Challenge Tournament Finals, Consolations

Sunday: 12pm-3:45pm Best Two-out-of-Three Championship, Third-Place

57 kg
