With the conclusion of the Yasar Dogu this weekend United World Wrestling has posted their updated World Men’s Freestyle Rankings. The rankings are a point-based system in which wrestlers earn points based on their performance at the 2017 World Championships, 2018 Continental Championships, and selected rankings tournaments (Yarygin, Tbilisi Grand Prix, Yasar Dogu, and Medved). Nick Gwiazdowski is the only American that tops his weight class. Gwiazdowski picked up a bronze medal competing at 125 kg in the Yasar Dogu. Noticeable by their absences are Jordan Burroughs and Kyle Snyder, who have not competed at all of these ranking tournaments. These rankings will be used to generate seeds at the 2018 World Championships in Budapest, Hungary, October 20-28th. The Women’s Freestyle and Men’s Greco-Roman have their own separate ranking events, as well.
