2018 Marine Corps US Open: Senior Women’s Freestyle Preview

The road to Final X begins Thursday, April 26th, 2018 when women's freestyle hits the mat at the Marine Corp US Open: Senior Nationals in Las Vegas, Nevada. Wrestling is set to begin at 9:00 am local time with the semifinals set for 6:00 pm that evening. The finals are scheduled for 7:00 pm Friday night. At 50 kg, 53 kg, 62 kg, 65 kg, 68 kg, 72 kg, and 76 kg, the champion this weekend will advance directly to Final X, the best of three series that will decide the world team spot. At 55 kg, 57 kg, and 59 kg, where Team USA has a returning world medalist, the US Open champion earns a spot in the best of three wrestle off to cap next month's World Team Trials challenge tournament. Today, we'll go through the field, look at the finals of the last Senior Nationals, held in December of 2016, last year's World Team Trials, and who is expected to challenge for the win in Vegas for all 10 weights. We'll also predict our top four of those registered at this stage.
