Women Wrestle 2 – How to Start a DI Women’s Program with John Clark

Last week, Sacred Heart University made headlines as the school announced they would be adding a women’s wrestling program to their athletic offerings. That decision makes them the second DI school to offer women’s wrestling and the first in the northeast. John Clark, currently the coach of the Pioneers men’s team, talks with Alexis and Arian about how this decision came about and the work behind the scenes needed to make women’s wrestling a reality at SHU.

This is a weekly podcast that will be hosted by recent McKendree University graduate Alexis Porter. Alexis was a four-time All-American at the WCWA level, a three-time Junior National Champion in Fargo, a Junior World bronze medalist and an active competitor on the Senior level. Alexis will be joined by her co-host Arian Carpio, a two-time Cadet Pan-American medalist and 2019 U23 World Team member, who is also training to compete in the 2020 Olympics.
