Today, Oregon State University wrestling team announced that their two-time All-American 285 lber Amar Dhesi would be rejoining the wrestling team during the second quarter of the OSU school year. That would appear to be after classes resume on January 7th. Dhesi did not enroll in the first quarter since he would be representing Canada at the World Championships in October. Last season at the 2018 NCAA Championships, Dhesi finished third at 285 lbs, losing only to Adam Coon (Michigan) 4-2. At that tournament, Amar defeated All-Americans Jacob Kasper (Duke), Nick Nevills (Penn State), and Michael Hughes (Hofstra x2). Back in 2016, Dhesi was fifth in the country, as well. Amar is a two-time Pac-12 champion that has accumulated an 84-19 career record with 21 falls, during his time in Corvallis.
Dhesi’s addition brings a lot of intrigue to the 285 lb weight class that just saw the return of All-American Sam Stoll and has freshman Gable Steveson (Minnesota) destroying everyone in his way.
