COLUMBUS, Ohio -- No. 7 Ohio State (10-1, 2-0) won nine matches with bonus points for the second Big Ten win of the season Friday at the Covelli Center. The Buckeyes scored a 38-4 victory over No. 25 Maryland (3-3, 1-2) in the first of two matches this weekend in Big Ten action.

The Buckeyes next travel to face No. 17 Wisconsin at 3 p.m. Sunday at the UW Field House in Madison. Fans can tune in to The Big Ten Network for the match against the Badgers.

125-No. 24 Brendan McCrone (OSU) def. Tommy Capul (UMD) | MD, 11-1
McCrone quickly scored the first takedown of the match for a 3-0 lead. McCrone controlled the remainder of the period while building nearly three minutes of riding time headed to the second. Capul escaped 30 seconds into the period to trail going into the third 3-1. McCrone scored a quick reversal for a 5-1 lead. After a four-point nearfall, a point for stalling and a point for riding time, McCrone got the win by major decision, 11-1.

133-No. 12 Nic Bouzakis (OSU) def. No. 21 Braxton Brown (UMD) | TF, 21-5
Bouzakis took a 6-2 lead after a pair of takedowns and a couple Brown escapes. The lead increased to 15-4 after the first three minutes. Bouzakis finished of the bout with a pair of takedowns in the second to win by technical fall, 21-5.

141-No. 3 Jesse Mendez (OSU) def. No. 14 Kal Miller (UMD) | MD, 10-2
With just over a minute gone in the first, Mendez scored the first takedown of the bout to lead 3-1 after the first three minutes. Mendez went up 4-1 after an escape early in the second. A Maryland stalling call added a point to the Ohio State lead after the first five minutes (5-1). Another call for stalling put Mendez up 6-1. A late takedown and a point for riding time gave Mendez the win by major decision, 10-2.

149-No. 9 Dylan D'Emilio (OSU) def. No. 17 Ethen Miller (UMD) | MD, 14-6
D'Emilio took a 3-1 lead to the second period after scoring the only takedown in the first. An escape and takedown early in the second put Miller up 5-3. D'Emilio tied it at 5-all with a reversal in the second and went ahead 7-5 on a reversal before adding a four-point nearfall for an 11-5 lead. A late takedown gave the Buckeyes a 14-6 win by decision, 14-6.

157-Isaac Wilcox (OSU) def. Michael North (UMD) | MD, 15-1
Wilcox scored the only points of the first period to lead 3-0 headed to the second.. A second-period escape, takedown and four-point nearfall put Wilcox up 11-0 after five minutes. North escaped for a point in the third before a Wilcox takedown ended it with a 15-1 major decision win for the Buckeyes.

165-No. 22 Bryce Hepner (OSU) def. AJ Rodrigues (UMD) | MD, 14-2
Hepner owned a 7-1 lead after a takedown with a minute remaining in the second period. The lead remained at six after five minutes. Another takedown for Hepner gave the Buckeyes a 10-2 lead with a minute to go in the bout. With a point for riding time and a late takedown, Hepner got the win by major decision, 14-2.

174- Rocco Welsh (OSU) def. Dom Solis (Jr.) | MD, 14-4
Welsh led after the first three minutes 6-1 on a pair of takedowns. Welsh added an escape point and a takedown to lead 10-1 heading into the third. Solis escaped early on the third before a Welsh takedown ended the match with a win by major decision, 14-4.

184- Seth Shumate (OSU) def. Chase Mielnik (UMD) | MD, 15-5
Mielnik fell behind 6-1 after a pair of Shumate takedowns in the first. A reversal in the second put Shumate up 8-2. He added a takedown to lead 11-3 after five minutes. Shumate got a takedown in the third and with a point for riding time won by major decision, 15-5.

197-No. 5 Jaxon Smith (UMD) def. Gavin Bell (OSU) | MD, 16-4
Smith took an early 3-1 lead on a takedown and Bell escape with under a minute gone in the first. Maryland led 6-1 after the first three minutes. Smith added a reversal early in the second for an 8-2 lead after a Bell escape. In the third, Bell added an escape point before a Smith takedown and another Bell escape. Smith finished off the match for a 16-4 win by major decision.

HWT-No. 17 Nick Feldman (OSU) def. Sam O'Brian (UMD) | TF, 17-2
Feldman jumped to a 14-1 lead on a pair of takedowns and two four-point nearfalls. He finished off the match with win by technical fall, 17-2. .
