Arizona State dominates Cal Poly, improves to 3-1 in conference
SAN LUIS OBISPO, Calif. -- The No. 12 Sun Devils stepped on the gas pedal early and never let up against No. 24 Cal Poly, defeating their conference rivals, 34-4, Friday evening at the Mott Athletics Center to improve to 3-1 in Pac-12 play this season.
Backed by the return of both Jesse Vasquez and Tony Negron, and fully healthy for the first time in months, the Sun Devils looked crisp and efficient. They won nine of 10 bouts, including the first eight, adding a pair of tech falls and four major decision victories.
The Sun Devils have now won seven of their past eight meetings with the Mustangs, posting a 15-3 record since 2001, including each of their last four matches in San Luis Obispo.
