Minneapolis to host 2028 NCAAs after missing out in 2020

In 2020, Minneapolis missed out hosting the NCAA Division I Wrestling Championships at U.S. Bank Stadium after COVID canceled the event days before it was set to begin.

Now Minneapolis is getting another opportunity to host the event.

The NCAA announced on Wednesday that the 2028 NCAA Division I Wrestling Championships will be held at U.S. Bank Stadium in Minneapolis, eight years after it was canceled in 2020.


In addition, the NCAA announced that St. Louis will host the 2027 NCAA Division I Wrestling Championships at Enterprise Center.

Championship host sites were also announced for Division II and Division III in 2027 and 2028.

The 2027 Division II Wrestling Championships will be held in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, while the 2028 NCAA Division II Wrestling Championships will take place in Pittsburgh.

The 2028 NCAA Division III Wrestling Championships will be held in La Crosse, Wisconsin.

The 2027 NCAA Division III Wrestling Championships will be announced at a later date.
