A.J. Ferrari has committed to North Carolina.
Ferrari, a 2021 national champion for Oklahoma State and 2025 All-American at CSU Bakersfield, announced that he will be a UNC Tar Heel Monday morning on Flo Radio Live.
Before making his official announcement, Ferrari jokingly announced that he was committing to Penn State and wrestling at 285 pounds. He then said he was going to Iowa to wrestle with his brother. He finally announced that he will be going to North Carolina.
He referenced the UNC coaches, training partners and facilitiies as primary factors in his decision.
"I feel like being at UNC, they can take me to the next level in all areas of my wrestling, to eventually not only have me win a national championship as I have already won but win the Hodge and dominate and really show that I have taken my wrestling to the next level."
He said he's weighing 225 pounds and is still undecided on whether he will wrestle at 197 pounds or 285 pounds for UNC.
Ferrari is coming off a third-place finish at the 2025 NCAA Division I Wrestling Championships in Philadelphia at 197 pounds.
