Runyon announced as assistant strength & conditioning coach at Iowa State
AMES, Iowa -- Iowa State athletics announced the hiring of Lance Runyon as assistant strength and conditioning coach Monday afternoon. Runyon will work with the Cyclone wrestling and men's golf teams.
Runyon, a Northern Iowa graduate, wrestled for the Panthers from 2019-25. He began his career as a 174-pounder before graduating as a heavyweight.
A Pleasant Hill, Iowa native, Runyon was a three-time NCAA Qualifier and compiled a 43-30 career record, including a 20-8 mark as a senior. He was a two-time Big 12 placewinner.
Runyon is a certified strength and conditioning specialist through the National Strength and Conditioning Association and is CPR/AED and First Aid certified through the American Red Cross.
Runyon earned a master's degree in Kinesiology and Sport Performance in December 2024 and a bachelor's degree in Movement and Exercise Science in December 2022.
