Seton Hill adds national champ Fanning to staff
Seton Hill head wrestling coach Vince DeAugustine is pleased to announce that former national champion and two time All-American Terrance Fanning has joined the program as an assistant coach for the 2025-26 Season.
Fanning commented, "I am excited for the opportunity to come back to Division II Wrestling and to be with a great group of guys and a phenomenal coach leading the program. I am honored to be able to learn from Coach DeAugustine and help with the vision that he and I have for team. I am thrilled to see these young men develop and grow on and off the mat. Go Griffs!"
"Terrance brings with him a wealth of knowledge both on and off the mat," said DeAugustine. "Any time you can surround your guys with someone of high character that knows what it's like to win at the biggest stage, it's a win for the program. I am extremely excited to see what he can do with the development of our upper weights."
A native of Kingwood, WV, Fanning enjoyed a standout wrestling career at Division II Wheeling Jesuit University from 2015-19.
As a junior in 2018, the 285-pounder went 31-6 and wrapped up his season by winning the NCAA Division II National Championship. He would then repeat as an All-American as a senior in 2019, finishing 30-5 and placing fourth at nationals. Fanning, who also earned three top-five finishes at the Division II NCAA East Super Regionals, posted a .780 career winning percentage and remains Wheeling Jesuit's all-time career leader with 103 victories.
Prior to joining the Seton Hill staff, Fanning, who earned a bachelor's degree in criminal justice from Wheeling Jesuit, coached at St. Vincent College.
He resides in Latrobe with wife, Rachel, and twin daughters Alayna and Makenzie.
