Hinneh commits to Grand View after back-to-back NJCAA titles

Martha Hinneh is taking her talents to one of NAIA women's wrestling's premier programs.

The Omaha native and two-time NJCAA national champion at 207 pounds has committed to Grand View University. Hinneh compiled a 78-6 record during her two seasons at Southeast Community College. She finished the season ranked No. 2 in The Open Mat's NJCAA women's wrestling pound-for-pound rankings.

Hinneh capped off her career at Southeast by winning her second straight national title at 207 pounds, posting a 3-1 victory over Iowa Western's Audre Herron in the championship match. She stepped into a leadership role for the young Bobcats squad this season after winning a national title a year ago.

Along the way, Hinneh accumulated several wins over nationally ranked NAIA wrestlers this past season, proving she can compete well above the junior college level. She also helped lead Southeast to a runner-up finish at the 2026 NJCAA Women's Wrestling Invitational.

Hinneh joins a Grand View program that placed third at the 2026 NAIA Women's Wrestling Championships in Park City, Kan. The Vikings qualified 12 wrestlers to the national tournament and brought home eight All-Americans. Grand View has established itself as one of the most consistently elite programs in NAIA women's wrestling and figures to be a strong fit for a wrestler of Hinneh's caliber as she makes the jump from the NJCAA ranks.
