Northland names Booe head men's wrestling coach

Northland Community & Technical College has named Storm Booe as head men's wrestling coach.

Booe brings a diverse coaching background to the Pioneers program. He most recently spent four years as an assistant coach for both the boys and girls programs at De Soto High School in Missouri, where the program produced 15 state tournament placers. Prior to that, Booe spent three years at Thoroughbred Wrestling Academy in Hillsboro, Mo., serving as an assistant boys coach and head girls coach. During his time there, the academy developed more than 190 high school state placers, six USA Wrestling Folkstyle Nationals placers and 11 Fargo placers.

A native of northwest Minnesota, Booe competed at Greenbush-Middle River High School, where he recorded 141 career wins, qualified for the state tournament three times and placed fifth at 119 pounds in 2009. He went on to wrestle at the Division II level at Northern State University.
In addition to his wrestling background, Booe has served 15 years in the United States Marine Corps and holds multiple cybersecurity certifications, including CompTIA Network+, CompTIA Security+ and SANS Cloud Security Essentials.

At Northland, Booe will focus on building a competitive and sustainable program while emphasizing culture, character and long-term athlete development on and off the mat.
