Iowa women's wrestling head coach Clarissa Chun has been named a USA Wrestling women's freestyle coach for the 2026 U20 World Championships in Bratislava, Slovakia, Aug. 16-23. The women's freestyle competition is set for Aug. 18-21.

Chun will help lead a women's roster that includes four Iowa wrestlers: first-years Taylor Whiting (53 kilograms) and Everest Leydecker (55 kilograms), second-year Bella Williams (62 kilograms) and third-year Karlee Brooks (57 kilograms).

A two-time USA Wrestling Women's Coach of the Year in 2024 and 2025, Chun has led Iowa women's wrestling to a pair of NCWWC national championships, 12 individual national titles, five national runner-up finishes and 36 All-Americans. She was also named the 2024 NWCA Trailblazer Award recipient and USA Today's Iowa Woman of the Year.

Before arriving at Iowa, Chun served as an assistant coach for the USA Wrestling women's national team from 2017-21. As a competitor, she was a two-time Olympian in 2008 and 2012 and won gold at the first of her five Senior World Championships appearances in 2008. Her 18-year senior-level career included five U.S. Open titles and four Pan American Championship gold medals.
