No. 1 Hanrahan commits to McKendree
McKendree has landed another major piece for its 2027 recruiting class.
Riley Hanrahan, one of the nation's top women's wrestling recruits and the No. 1-ranked high school wrestler at 145 pounds, has committed to the Bearcats.
She made the announcement Sunday on social media.
The Black River Falls, Wisconsin, standout announced her decision after another strong showing on the national stage. On Saturday at FloWrestling's Who's Number One, Hanrahan rallied from a 5-0 deficit to pin Eve Skrocki, who recently committed to Iowa.
Hanrahan caught Skrocki in a headlock late in the match and secured the fall with one minute remaining. Skrocki entered the event ranked No. 3 nationally at 145 pounds.
The victory added to an already impressive résumé for Hanrahan. Earlier this year, she won the U20 World Team Trials at 65 kilograms to earn a spot on the U.S. U20 world team. She has also competed against senior-level competition and continues to establish herself as one of the premier prospects in the Class of 2027.
Hanrahan becomes the latest high-profile recruit to choose McKendree. Earlier this year, the Bearcats also received a commitment from Marlee Solomon, another nationally ranked standout in the 2027 class.
McKendree is coming off a historic season in which it captured the inaugural NCAA Women's Wrestling Championship, edging Iowa for the team title.
The addition of Hanrahan gives McKendree another elite recruit as the Bearcats continue building one of the strongest 2027 classes in the country.
